Exciting opportunities are available for experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic, and motivated Maternity Liaison and Stop Smoking Practitioner. This role will contribute to the provision of our Stop Smoking in Pregnancy service, delivered across the county of Staffordshire.
The main functions of this role are:
- Network and engage with Maternity Tobacco Dependency Advisors, Maternity units, Midwifes, Health Visitors, Family Hubs, GP Practices, and other stakeholders to increase referrals and reduce health inequalities in pregnant people, household members/partners and post pregnancy.
- Deliver face to face and virtual appointments for all those eligible for the Stop Smoking in Pregnancy service, using behaviour change techniques to support a healthy pregnancy and create a smokefree household.
- Attend community events to promote the Stop Smoking in Pregnancy service to a wider audience.
The successful candidate will:
- Have the ability to be flexible and work under pressure to achieve service delivery targets.
- Have least a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in community engagement and service promotion.
- Be able to use behaviour change insights within a promotional context.
- Display strong knowledge of the harmful effects of smoking
- Be flexible with good time management and planning skills
- Be interested in motivating and supporting both individuals and groups in community-based settings
- Have the ability to deliver training specifically around smoking cessation in pregnancy
- Have experience in building strong links and relationships with a diverse range of groups, organisations and agencies
