Deputy Service Manager

We’re looking for a dynamic, motivated and versatile leader to join our new School-Aged Health Improvement and Prevention Service as Deputy Service Manager.

The service aims to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough through prevention, education and partnership working. As Deputy Service Manager, you will play a key role in developing our network engagement, Healthy Schools Accreditation programme, partnerships and digital offer.

You will work closely with the Service Manager and Co-ordinator team to ensure high quality delivery across schools, colleges, alternative provision and community settings. Alongside representing the service at local networks and supporting co-ordinators to resolve delivery challenges, you will also take a hands on role in guiding staff as they deliver health improvement sessions. This will include providing oversight and support for key programmes such as smoking and vaping prevention, sexual health education and wider wellbeing initiatives, ensuring consistency, best practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and support staff
  • Experience of partnership working with education, health and community stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the education system and public health priorities for young people
  • Confidence in using data to shape service delivery and evaluate impact
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
